The Heart-Brain Connection: The Link between LQTS and Seizures

Researchers at the �鶹��Ƶ recently discovered a genetic link between Long QT Syndrome, a rare cardiac rhythm disease, and an increased risk for seizures. The study, which was partially funded by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, also found that people with LQTS who experience seizures are at greater risk of sudden cardiac death.

A new study in Academic Medicine has found that women of color were less likely to receive NIH funding compared with Caucasian women. The study concluded that race, not gender, is the most significant factor influencing funding from the NIH.
