If your sinus disorder is complex, you may be referred to UR Medicine’s Department of Otolaryngology (ENT). Our providers have expertise in both medicinal and surgical treatments for the full range of nose and sinus conditions.
Our nose and sinus specialists (called rhinologists) often consult with experts in allergy, pulmonology, neurology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, and sleep medicine to provide you with a full spectrum of care.
Your provider will likely complete a detailed head and neck physical exam, which includes using a nasal endoscope to look at your nasal cavity.
If necessary, they can biopsy a polyp or mass right in the office. They may also use an endoscope to look at your nose, sinus, and larynx, and can perform a CT scan if needed.
If surgery is needed, our experts use image-guided, minimally invasive techniques.
What Sets Us Apart?
UR Medicine ENT physicians (otolaryngologists) are trained in non-surgical and surgical treatment of diseases of the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck.
We offer telehealth visits, with the hope of lessening the number of in-person visits for those traveling from far away.
We utilize video capture to gain a stronger understanding of your condition. We offer a wide range of minimally invasive in-office procedures and sinus surgeries.
UR Medicine’s specialists perform hundreds of procedures and surgeries every year, so your care is always in the hands of well-practiced experts. As part of UR Medicine, our ENT physicians treat more complex conditions and unusual complications than most physicians in the Rochester area.
Our rhinologists are also active researchers and teachers who stay at the forefront of their field while mentoring the next generation of physicians. All ENT physicians are board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
