Overview
The University of Rochester (UR) Medicine’s Integrated NeuroBehavioral Health Clinic serves as the hub for individuals experiencing mental health symptoms within the UR Department of Neurology setting. Our team provides consultation, assessment, and mental health treatment to adults, couples, and families managing neurological symptoms and conditions. Our goal is to make it easy for our patients to access the care they need.
Services
We consider our clinic to have two tracks: (1) A functional neurological disorders track, and a (2) track for individuals with neurological conditions who are also presenting with mental health symptoms. However, we understand that many individuals have symptoms that fall within both programs, and we tailor our approach to the unique needs of the person.
Services for Functional Neurological Disorders Program
- One-time consultation of patients referred by their provider regarding diagnosis and management of functional neurological disorders (FND)
- Offering education and support for newly diagnosed individuals, couples, and families.
- Providing psychotherapy, including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapies, and supportive therapy to individuals, couples, and families.
- Co-managed care with medication management, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Services for Individuals with Neurological Conditions
- Education and support for individuals, couples, and families experiencing adjustment to new neurological diagnosis.
- Diagnosis, assessment, and management of mental health symptoms in the context of another neurological condition, like epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, and multiple sclerosis.
