Q: Why did you choose Eastman?
A: Eastman Dental has a strong reputation for education and research.

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum under the guidance of experienced faculty with valuable insights and mentorship. Eastman also offers opportunities for involvement in dental research. Additionally, the program has a strong network of alumni and professional mentorship, and collaboration.

Q: Best memory of your EIOH residency?
A: I have so many wonderful memories, but one in particular was a patient referred to me by orthodontics faculty. The young teenager arrived with a unique story intertwined with personal challenges. Despite facing hurdles in their past, their desire for a radiant smile was unmistakable. Collaborating closely with Dr. Malmstrom and Dr. Baig, we worked together on a journey to transform this patient's smile. Through a careful application of dental veneers and the compassionate support of our team, we not only restored the patient’s dental aesthetics but also ignited a newfound confidence, bringing back to the patient’s life the brightness of a new smile. It is so rewarding when we can give back a smile.

Q: In what way did your Eastman experience allow you to grow?
A: Eastman is a unique place where you can grow as much as you desire, as you have all the great opportunities every day and the best faculty team to give you support and motivation.

I had the chance to refine my clinical skills in all areas of the dental field, especially in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics, supervised by experienced faculty. This experience has taught me how to work closely with colleagues from all around the world with diverse backgrounds and experiences, fostering teamwork and enhancing patient care.

As a teaching assistant, I had the opportunity to mentor and guide my peers, which has enhanced my leadership and teaching and reinforced the deepening of my knowledge. I can say it was a truly enlightening experience.

Q: Next steps after graduation?
A: I am moving to Florida to start working in a dental office and continue pursuing advances in the field, and to enjoy time with my family.

Q: Last time you were in awe?
A: The last time I was in awe was during a ski trip with my family to Lake Placid in the Adirondack Mountains, where the Winter Olympic games were held. As I glided down the slopes, I was contemplating the beauty of the winter landscape and the incredible sunset in the white mountains. It was a moment of pure joy.

Q: Your biggest fear?
A: Not being here to enjoy life with my children and family.

A: I am grateful for who I am and the person I became over the years, especially after the challenging times of moving to another country.

By appreciating each step along the way, you gain a deeper sense of fulfillment and satisfaction, regardless of the outcome. It's a perspective that can lead to greater resilience, gratitude, and overall happiness in both professional and personal endeavors. As I always say: “Enjoy the ride!”
