Stroll for Strong Kids and 5K Run Set for Saturday

Golisano Children’s Hospital will be holding its 20th Annual Stroll for Strong Kids and 5K Run on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at . This event will raise money for the 85,000 kids from all counties in New York State and beyond that rely on Golisano Children’s Hospital for treatment. 

Almost 10,000 people are expected to participate. Last year’s event raised over $400,000 for the kids at Golisano Children’s Hospital.

“The participants, the children, and the families are why we do the Stroll,” said Stephanie Sheets, assistant director of community affairs. “Over 10,000 people participated in 2015’s Stroll, which was another record-setting year. We are looking forward to another tremendous Stroll in 2016.”

This year’s Stroll will kick off with on-site 5K registration at 7 a.m., followed by the race at 8:30 a.m. Those participating in the walk can register on-site at 8 a.m., with the walk starting at 10:30 a.m. Thousands of children’s hospital supporters and personalized teams will then fill the park until 1 p.m. to enjoy a variety of family friendly activities, including more than a dozen bounce houses, crafts, music, games, and more.

As guests stroll through the park, they can visit with their favorite Rochester sports team mascots, stop at the 100.5 The Drive booth for a chance to win prizes, partake in hands-on activities with Hairzoo, reunite with fellow Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) grads at the NICU tent, see bulldozers from , and more.
