UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital Named Rochester’s Most Preferred Hospital

Oct. 19, 2015
UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital was named a 2015/2016 winner by National Research Corporation. The annual award identifies the top hospitals across the United States that health care consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image. This is the 20th consecutive year that Strong has been named Rochester’s most preferred hospital.

“We are thrilled to receive this award, which reflects the dedication of our employees to deliver safe, high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care,” said Robert J. Panzer, M.D., Strong Memorial’s chief quality officer. “We’ve experienced many changes in health care over the past two decades, but our commitment to creating a compassionate and healing environment for our patients has remained the same.”

Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the National Research Corporation’s Market Insights survey, the largest online consumer healthcare survey in the country that collects responses from more than 300,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. The survey data was collected from September 2014 through August 2015 and the winners were announced publicly on October 12.

UR Medicine is the University of Rochester’s health care system.  It includes Strong Memorial Hospital (and its inpatient and outpatient components such as Golisano Children’s Hospital, Wilmot Cancer Institute, and Flaum Eye Institute), University of Rochester Medical Faculty Group, Highland Hospital, Thompson Health, Eastman Dental, The Highlands at Brighton, The Highlands Living Center, Visiting Nurse Service, and a range of clinical programs serving patients across western New York.
