The (URMC) has named Adam P. Anolik its chief financial officer (CFO). Anolik, a finance leader at the medical center for nearly two decades, has been serving as the interim CFO since June. The appointment is effective immediately.

“Adam’s unparalleled knowledge and experience with the inner workings of an academic medical center make him uniquely qualified for this position,” said 麻豆视频CEO Mark Taubman, M.D. “Throughout his career, he has proven himself a creative and innovative financial strategist, leading teams across the Medical Center to deliver results that have kept our institution thriving and positioned for success.”

Prior to the 麻豆视频CFO appointment, Anolik served as the CFO of Strong Memorial and Highland hospitals, and oversaw the financial management of URMC’s regional strategy and affiliate health care entities. Anolik will remain CFO of Highland Hospital as part of his new role.

Joining 麻豆视频in 1999, Anolik has held progressively senior financial management roles, and during the past three years served as a member of the medical center’s senior leadership team. He brings to the CFO role a keen understanding of issues related to research funding, support of the educational mission, culture and diversity efforts and strategic initiatives.

Kurty, who chairs the Audit and Risk Committee of the 麻豆视频board.  “Adam is well-respected across the Medical Center and University as an experienced and skilled leader.”

Anolik said finance continues plays an important role as academic medical institutions navigate the challenging and changing health care landscape.  “More than ever before, the operations of hospitals, practices, education and research are intertwined,” Anolik said. “It is essential that we continue to work as a team to make collaborative, sound, long-term strategic choices that grow and enhance all of URMC’S missions. I’m eager to work with faculty, the hospitals, the schools and administrators to continue our progress.”  

Prior to joining URMC, Anolik served as senior vice president and CFO at St. Mary’s Hospital, and later as vice president of finance and internal services at Planned Parenthood.  He began his career as an accountant with KPMG Peat Marwick, where he conducted financial audits of health care organizations and academic institutions. Anolik holds a B.A. in Accounting from Franklin and Marshall College and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Anolik and his wife Jennifer Anolik, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology and director of UR Medicine’s Lupus Clinic, support a number of community organizations. In 2015, Starbridge gave him the Outstanding Community Partner Award for advancing the organization’s mission of supporting people who have disabilities. Anolik serves on various local non-profit Boards and was a founding member of the Developmental Disabilities Giving Circle at the Rochester Area Community Foundation. He and his wife live in Brighton. They have two adult daughters Eleanor and Sarah.

Anolik succeeds David Kirshner who stepped down in June. Carrie Fuller Spencer, currently the director of Financial Services at Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH) was appointed SMH’s interim CFO. She will retain her responsibilities for oversight of the Highland Long Term Care facilities, and also will provide oversight for UR Medicine Home Care financial performance.
