Watch for Wilmot during 2019 Super Bowl
UR Medicine’s Wilmot Cancer Institute will be featured in a commercial that will air during the 2019 Super Bowl, which starts at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3. The ad highlights several key facts about Wilmot that benefit patients and the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. It is expected to air before/during half-time.
“Hundreds of thousands of people in the Rochester area will watch the Super Bowl on Sunday and during such a popular, high-profile event, we’re eager to share how we are unique in our region,” says Jonathan Friedberg, M.D., M.M.Sc., director of Wilmot Cancer Institute. “Our scientists, physicians, nurses, and staff work every day to make a difference for those impacted by cancer. It’s exciting to be able to emphasize our prominence not only in Rochester, but the entire central and western New York region."
The commercial focuses on a number of features that make Wilmot distinctive. With 12 outpatient locations throughout the region, Wilmot has a team of more than 200 nurses and 100 doctors who specialize in many types of cancer. Many of those doctors are also researchers, looking for better ways to treat cancer. In addition to compassionate experts, Wilmot Cancer Institute offers hundreds of clinical trials and innovative programs such as the Pluta Integrative Oncology Center and the Judy DiMarzo Cancer Survivorship Program.
“With an asset like Wilmot, we feel it’s our responsibility to spread the word as effectively as possible,” says Karl Withers, Associate Vice President of Marketing at UR Medicine. “When it comes to reaching a significant portion of our community, many of whom will be watching for the ads as well as the game, there is simply nothing else like the Super Bowl."
