Dr. Rizzone was very up front about the issues with my mother's arthritis and recommended both Aquatic Physical Therapy and Acupuncture. She did do an injection into my mother's right hip, which has definitely helped.

She was dismissive and there was not a single expression or communication of empathy in the entire visit. It is clear she was entirely indifferent about my quality of life. [...] She interrupted several times when I was trying to convey something important about my history. She didn't care at all. This was the absolute worst and shortest new patient visit I've ever had and will not be going back.

Dr. Rizzone acted like the used car salesman of doctors. All she wanted to talk about was what my insurance would cover, not what was more effective. When I told her I did not need to discuss my insurance with her, she did not respect that and told me we would run out of time if I did not stop interrupting her -- but yet she had time to discuss my insurance at every turn. I asked her if swimming would help, and she said she didn't know, and then later brought up aquatic therapy as if it were a new or different idea. [...]. Just disgusting in demeanor and lack of focus on medical outcomes, rather than [...]. A horrible representative for UofR.

I had many questions and worries about getting a cortisone injection. Dr. Rizzone answered them all, explaining the pros and cons, as well as risks and rewards. And through our discussion, I ended up deciding I would not get the injection at this time. Dr. Rizzone She recommended accupuncture instead, and provided me with 3 names/practices.

The provider was dismissive. She seemed to arrive at the appointment with preconceived ideas about my care and did not ask any questions nor want to hear about my recovery experience.[...] And at the end she was insulting. I would never see this provider again, nor would I ever recommend her to anyone. For that matter, I would make a point of telling people to avoid her. She may be a fine doctor, but her communication, compassion, and collaboration skills need significant work.
