Valor Leadership and Coaching

After Successful Runs, the Valor Leadership and Coaching is Back!

Call for Application is closed.

After successful runs, the Valor Leadership Development and Coaching Program is back for our third cohort for AY 2024-25.

Limited slots are available for the third cohort of URMC’s Valor Leadership Development and Coaching Program, which will launch in September. The innovative program offers one-on-one leadership coaching and access to a robust online learning platform to SMD faculty across the clinical, education, and research enterprises.

Â鶹ÊÓƵpartners with to offer the program, which can benefit established leaders, those who see themselves someday taking a leadership role, or those who simply want to enhance their skills. It reflects our institutional commitment to helping faculty grow professionally and expand their skillsets.

Two hundred faculty members have completed the program since it was first offered in 2022. Extremely positive feedback from participants in our first two cohorts was received, which underscores the effectiveness of this program. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone, at whatever career stage, to strengthen existing skills or to acquire new and valuable skills and insights.

Valor participants spend about 30 minutes each week during the six-month program working independently on online exercises in addition to regular conversations with coaches. Valor coaches help participants identify goals and develop an action plan; all communication with them is confidential, and scheduling is flexible.

Along with coaching, participants receive access to Valor’s digital platform, which includes ongoing course content, continuous messaging with their coaches, and the chance to connect with a community of engaged high performers.

Applications for the Leadership Development and Coaching program for the third cohort of URMC’s Valor Leadership and Coaching Program are now closed.

Interest in the first two cohorts was so strong that each year we needed to have a waiting list. Some of the slots in the third cohort will be filled by faculty members from last year’s waiting list. As a result, anyone interested in this year’s program is encouraged to apply promptly. Successful applicants will be notified in early September with a launch date for the program in late September. There is no cost for SMD faculty for participating in this program.
