2019 GSA & GSS Charity Gala

This year, GSS partnered with GSA to host our annual charity gala! The event was held in the Feldman Ballroom and featured hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, raffles for gift baskets, and a DJ to keep graduate students entertained all evening. Students always look forward to this event as a time to get fancy, spend time with friends, and give back to the community. Almost $2000 was raised this year to buy Thanksgiving Dinners for local families in need at Rochester School No. 28; past recipients include the , , and .

Thanks to everyone who attended the Gala for their generous support of our Rochester community!

Graduate Student Winter Clothing Swap

Have extra gently-used winter coats or accessories? New to Rochester winters? Then this clothing swap is for you!  Each fall, we accept donations by placing totes around the Medical Center and Research Buildings.  These items are available to students looking to prepare for the ice and snow in one big Clothing Swap.  All remaining items go to local charities and shelters.

Volunteering at the Rochester Museum and Science Center

Graduate students at the University of Rochester have the opportunity to join the team of volunteers who keep the museum running smoothly. Students have the option to volunteer once they have completed volunteer training through the museum. This volunteer experience provides an opportunity for graduate students to connect with the community and promote scientific learning. Volunteers often explain museum exhibits or perform special demonstrations for visitors. For more information contact Liz_Albertorio-Saez@urmc.rochester.edu
