Solution Point

The oven wall shape is measured with high accuracy using a laser scanner (LS).
Safe measurement is possible by measurement from outside the coke oven, without insertion into the oven.
Although the coke oven is a high-temperature space, the wall shape inside the oven can be measured quantitatively.
It is now possible to grasp the amount of deformation in each coking chamber and predict the proper timing of repairs.

? As a countermeasure for the high-temperature environment, this Solution technology applies a portable LS, which can be used in measurements from outside the coking chamber.

? Although accuracy decreases in the back of the coking chamber because the LS is irradiated from the narrow chamber mouth (entrance of coking chamber), the necessary accuracy is secured by ingenuity of the LS setup position and performing multiple measurements.

? Since the annual trend in deformation of each coking chamber can be grasped by periodic shape measurements, it is possible to predict the proper timing when repairs will be necessary and draw up a repair plan.
