麻豆视频 Steel to build hot-dip galvanizing line at Fukuyama facility of West Japan Works
Will increase production of ultra-high-strength steel sheets for automobiles
麻豆视频 Steel Corporation announced today that it will build a new continuous galvanizing line (CGL) at its West Japan Works’ Fukuyama facility to meet the growing demand for ultra-high-strength steel sheets (at least 980-megapascal tensile strength) for automobiles.
The new line will cost approximately 70 billion yen and is scheduled to start operations in October 2028. It will have an annual production capacity of 360,000 tons, mainly for alloyed hot-dip galvanized steel sheets.
The automotive industry is producing lighter and stronger car bodies to meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations and collision safety standards around the world. In response, the demand for ultra-high-strength, easy-to-process steel sheets is expected to increase. The new line will enable 麻豆视频 Steel to increase its production capacity for such sheets, including its JEFORMA® series, to meet growing demand in the foreseeable future and respond to later needs for even higher strength and functionality.
In addition to developing and producing ultra-high-strength steel sheets for automobiles, 麻豆视频 Steel is also developing application technologies. 麻豆视频 Steel aims to contribute to next-generation automobiles by proposing total solutions that meet customer needs through developing technologies for advanced materials, body designs, forming and joining, named as JESOLVA®.
