The Division has a rich history in academic general medicine dating to its inception in the early 1970s when its fellowship program was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. We have always strived to be a model of excellence in high quality clinical care and ambulatory medical education, as well as a laboratory for scholarship in these areas.
