Crashworthiness evaluation
High speed testing machine
Crash experiments with seeds from 0.1m/s to 14m/s can be carried out by controlling hydro-actuators to evaluate the crash performance of small hat-section samples and actual body parts.
Specification
- Crash speed: 0.1m/sec~14m/sec(50km/h)
- Stroke : 0~150mm
- Maximum load: 50Ton
- Temperature : -60℃ - room temperature
Example of three-point bending test
Example of axial crash test
The crash performance can be analyzed by using the high speed cameras and force-stroke curve data.
Crash tests and numerical simulation can propose suitable materials, shapes of parts and joining conditions for advanced high-strength steels in order to develop light-weight body structure with high crash performance.
