Creating Energy from Waste Materials

The gasification and melting plant in the Kurashiki Area of the West Japan Works has been applying a Thermoselect system based on Japan first domestic PFI technology since April 2005.

The primary contractor is Mizushima Eco works Co., Ltd. General domestic waste (burnable including ash) and sewage sludge from Kurashiki city and industrial waste produced by the Mizushima Complex are simultaneously treated in this plant.

With its drastically reduced emissions of dioxins, the new plant is operating as an epoch-making, next-generation plant that processes waste and recycles resources without pollution. The West Japan Works vastly contributes to CO2 reduction through the use of fuel gas produced by energy from waste materials for power generation.
